Artificial reefs in construction. New designs for Pozos Colorados Bay
Aiming to contribute with the conservation of biodiversity in Pozos Colorados Bay, MoAm has created new designs of artificial reefs.
These structures were built with steel pipe of 45 cm in diameter, interconnected in all their joints. They have a pyramidal type design of three meters long in all their parts, as well as circular perforations of different diameter and amount. The variations in structural complexity of the modules, included the designed for the first stage of the artificial reef project, have the purpose to determine the sort of reef which results in higher diversity and productivity in the area, in order to optimize their design for future interventions.
